The Lighting Guru

Mike started his career in Lighting Design over 8 years ago when he found he had the creative eye to set up lighting in a way that captured the spirit & ambiance of architecture & gardens.

He is a designer & an installer so he can bring out the hidden beauty of any home or garden. Many of his clientele are intrigued by his ability to find the secret beauty of their landscapes in places they never expected.

He trained for 2 years in the factory & with lighting manufacturers while also gaining over 6 years of experience in the field with contractors & designers. He also chose to train & collaborate with movie lighting technicians to really get the most out of using & creating dramatic effects with lighting.

He built relationships with distributors who furthered his familiarity of product availability, which has enabled him to have a vast knowledge of fixture variation so that there is more than one option to the homeowner.

He enjoys working with interior designers and landscape artchitects so that collaboration and vision for the property is achieved.

Whatever the lighting needs, depending on him to artistically beautify the exterior of a home is the best bet.

Mike Says: I get to be outdoors instead of in an office & I get to be creative, make people happy & get paid to do it. Sounds good to me. :)

How did you get into Lighting Design?

"At a designer challenge yrs ago, rather than staking fixtures into the ground putting them anywhere they would go, I placed fixtures where they should go. Later, the owner looked over the area & cried. A stone I lit was a memorial to someone who died. I won & I knew when I saw her reaction that this business of lighting was something I could really enjoy."
